I’ve been a copy-editor for more than ten years, and I’m a professional member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading.
I trained in scientific copy-editing at Elsevier and Macmillan (publishers of Nature, the world’s leading scientific journal). Before going freelance in 2013, I was the Copy Editing Manager at Nature Reviews. I managed seven copy-editors and was in charge of hiring and training, as well as maintaining and updating the style guide.
I specialise in life sciences, but I’ve also copy-edited a wide range of texts – everything from management presentations to a book about guitar history. My clients have included New Scientist, Nature, John Wiley & Sons, Scinopsis and Oxford University Press.
